Is it for me? · Salons and barbers

A chair booked,
a client remembered.

Appointment requests arrive through your own site and attach themselves to the person who sent them, so the fourteenth visit knows about the first thirteen. One login, no commission, no third party between you and your own clients.

Plans from $20 a month. Most salons are on Standard.

A Thursday

Nothing here is a feature. It is just the day, written down.

Six moments between opening and closing, and where each one lands.

08:40
A request arrives while you are still setting up

Rita asks for Thursday, cut and colour, and mentions she liked the last shade. It lands in the dashboard as pending and she gets an automatic acknowledgement.

09:15
You confirm it between clients

One tap. She is emailed. The request records that you were the one who answered, and when.

14:00
She arrives and the record is already open

Fourteen visits, seven stamps, and the note about balayage from July. Nobody had to remember any of it.

15:30
Maya adds the stamp

From her own login on her own phone, not a shared password. The stamp records that it was Maya who gave it.

15:31
The second scan is refused

Rita pays separately for a product. The window stops a second stamp on the same visit rather than quietly counting it.

19:00
You change Saturday's prices yourself

The preview updates as you type and nothing is public until you press Go Live.

An example day

The point of all of it

None of these is a thing you sit down to do. They are things that happen while you are working, and the dashboard is where they end up without anyone filing them.

What you never do

Reconcile two lists, search an email account for what somebody asked in July, or work out which stylist gave a stamp that should not have been given.

Example inbox

The request

It arrives as a person, not as a notification.

No app in the middle, and no commission on a client who found you themselves.

Every request carries a name, a contact, the date they want and whatever they wrote. It sits as pending until you confirm or decline, and they are told either way without you writing the email.

Each one records who answered it and when — useful the day two people both think the other replied.

Regulars

A tenth blow-dry free is a stamp card, and it lives on their phone.

Stamps or points, your reward, your threshold. There is no app to download — the card is a page in their account on your own domain.

Offers that stop on their own

Double stamps on your quiet Tuesday, a free treatment at ten, a percentage off above a spend. You set the days it runs and it switches itself off.

When two offers overlap, the bigger one wins

They never multiply. A double-stamp Tuesday inside a triple-stamp launch week gives three, not six — which is the difference between a promotion and a bill.

One earn per visit

Thirty minutes by default. A second scan inside the window is refused rather than counted, which is the only reason a stamp card survives a busy Saturday.

Three levels, set per person

Your staff

Three levels, and only one of them can lock you out.

Invite the people who help you run the place and choose what each of them can do. Not one password on the back of the appointment book.

Owner is the only level that can add or remove people, so a stylist who moves on cannot take the account with them — and every stamp and every answered request already carries the name of whoever did it.

How the result looks

Being found

Two lines decide whether they click, so you should be writing them.

A salon is found locally, and the two lines under your name are the whole of what a searcher reads before deciding. You write them per page rather than letting a heading become the title by accident.

The module flags the pages that have never had one, so a service page you added in a hurry is not sitting there blank a year later.

Before you start

What this does not do, said now rather than later.

No live diary, and no double-booking guard

Bookings is a request inbox with a confirm and a decline. There is no calendar holding real-time availability, so two people can ask for the same Saturday and you choose.

No card payments or deposits

Helm does not take a deposit against an appointment or process a payment at the desk. Requests, records and the loyalty card — not a till.

No salon template

You do not pick ’salon’ and get a site. Your sections are shaped around your actual services at setup, which is slower to say and true.

Getting started

Tell us about the room, and we will build around how you work in it.

Plans start at $20 a month. Loyalty is included on Business or $35 a month on any plan, and bookings is switched on for your account rather than bought.

Prices in GBP, EUR and CAD on the pricing page.
