About

Bookings, customers, loyalty and the website itself — one dashboard, run by the person who answers the email.

Helm is the software a small business runs on: one login where the owner takes bookings, keeps customer accounts, runs loyalty and courses, reads the enquiries and edits every word on the site — without code, and without going back to whoever built it. The website underneath can come from more than one place — the business already has one, it's built with Helm AI, or we build it. Helm hosts, runs and supports it whichever way it arrived.

What it is

Not a website builder. The thing that comes after one.

Most tools stop at launch. A business gets a site, then finds that changing a price means emailing whoever built it — and that taking bookings, keeping a customer list or running a loyalty scheme was never on the table at all. Helm is built for the years after launch instead: the site is live, and the person who owns the business is the person who runs it.

However the site arrived

Some businesses arrive with a site already, some build one with Helm AI, some ask us to build it, and some come through a partner. Helm is the same dashboard underneath all four.

One screen

A dashboard carries only the modules that business actually uses — a café that takes bookings sees bookings, and never sees the modules it has no use for. There is no page builder to learn and no plugin library to maintain.

Hosted and supported

Whichever route the site came by, we host and support it on infrastructure we operate ourselves, with no third-party content platform underneath. The site is the client's, and Helm is the software behind it, not the address.

How it started

It began as a problem we kept solving by hand.

Helm started in freelance work rather than a business plan. We were building websites for small businesses, and the same question followed every handover: how does the owner change anything? A new price, a different photo, updated opening hours — all of it came back to us, and none of it needed a developer.

So we built what should have existed already. The first working version took about two months and went straight in front of a real client. It has been developed the same way since: in use by real businesses before it's called finished.

How we work

No pitch decks, no feature checklists.

Helm is sold and improved the same way it's built — in front of the people who actually use it.

We show it, we don't pitch it

Nobody buys Helm from a slide. We open the real dashboard, hand it over, and answer questions while the business clicks through it. That is a slower conversation than sending a demo video, and it is the one that works.

The catalogue came from clients

Every module exists because a business asked for it. Each new client needed something the last one didn't, so it got built. Nothing in the range was designed in advance for demand that hadn't appeared yet.

Changes are published

What changed and when is written up on a public changelog, and whether everything is running is on a public status page. Neither waits for a client to ask, and both are there to be checked before anyone commits.

Where it operates

Operated from London and Beirut.

Lebanon is the market Helm knows best and builds for first: prices quoted in dollars, payment methods that work locally, and hosting decisions that account for how the internet behaves there. The platform is not limited to Lebanon — clients run sites from the UK and elsewhere — but the guides, the examples and the payment options are written from both places.

Who's behind it

The work and the replies come from the same desk.

Helm is designed, built and supported by Khaled Jamal, a designer and engineer who started it while freelancing for small businesses. Client email reaches him directly rather than a support queue.

Get in touch

Want to see it with your own content in it?

The fastest way to judge Helm is to look at the dashboard with your business in front of you. Email works, or book a short call — there is no sales process either way.

Hosted and supported in-house — whoever built the site. It lives on the client's own domain or one we provide, and stays theirs either way.
